About

Bark Lake Cultural Developments is a volunteer driven organization that Canada Revenue Agency has granted charitable status.

Our history

Irondale’s history has been hiding in people’s closets for generations. Since 2008 Irondale has been collecting stories, photos and artifacts. Bark Lake Cultural Developments was formed in May 2012, to facilitate the purchase of the heritage building known as the Irondale Church and has evolved into preserving the history to share. An Architectural Conservator’s report was done on the church, it indicated various reasons why this building should be saved. The Township of Minden Hills passed a by-law giving the building a heritage designation.

Our mission

To bring together those people interested in the heritage of the Irondale area.
